Further & Higher Education

We are happy to support further and higher education settings and supply a range of animals and lectures on features of our animals and habitats. Please call to discuss requirements and obtain a quote.

Understanding the nature and features of reptiles, insect and arachnids is imperative to our line of work and sharing this information enables others to make informed decisions about the treatment of these animals in the wild and in captivity.

Are the animals safe, are any of them harmful? We do not use any venomous animals and never leave the animals unattended. Any animal can be unpredictable in their behaviour so we always ask that children are kept calm and supervised throughout our presentations and any pets to be kept in another room. Hygiene is also of the upmost importance to both our audience and animals so we strongly encourage all participants to wash their hands before and after encounters and no food to be consumed near or during the presentation. We provide alcohol based hand sanitizer at all of our displays and latex gloves if certain animals are being displayed. A copy of our general Risk Assessment is available upon request.

Do we need to provide anything? All we ask is that we have access to a table to put the animals on and a power socket in order to heat the animals if necessary.

Will you leave the animals with us to use for our own discussions? Whilst we are happy to supply animals for use with your own talks or presentations we will not leave these unattended at any setting.

Will you supply any learning materials? We can provide a fact sheet on each of the animals used in our presentation with key information about the topics discussed. We are developing further informational fact sheets and are happy to discuss individual requirements.

Do you cater for children with additional needs? Yes, we are happy to cater for children or adults with additional needs. Please inform us of any requirements prior to booking so that we can discuss arrangements.

What happens if the pupils or staff have a phobia of snakes or spiders? We can provide preliminary information on the animals prior to the encounters and will provide nervous pupils with the opportunity to approach the animals in their own time or distance themselves during presentations.

How much does it cost? Please contact us for an up-to-date quote and discuss individual requirements.
